Finally some product application! We will be covering how to apply a base layer to the natural nails in this video. Please feel free to follow along in your manual in section 25.
Following on from our previous videos, I have prepped Hedda’s nails and applied my adhesion promoter ready for this base coat layer.
You can just do a thin layer of Lastik or if you need to do a bit of correcting – let’s say the client has some ridges or if you wanted to use a nude Lastik colour for camouflaging purposes – you can do 2 coats or 1 slightly thicker coat.
When starting out with gel application, the key is to make sure there isn’t too much product on your brush. Off load and keep a small amount of gel on one side of the brush. Another tip is to start by doing one finger at a time until you are more confident – once more confident you can apply up to all 5 fingers before performing a full cure.
With Planet Vogue we traditionally would use Sticky bond and Lastik:
but if you needed a HEMA FREE option, you would use Nail Prep instead of Sticky Bond (2 coats) and Stick ‘n Float instead of Lastik:
Please read section 25 of the manual and submit a photo of your base coat application to move forward. This can be performed on your own non-dominant hand or on a practice finger.
